Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Nurse specializing in the MS (Medical Surgical Floor) unit, located in Fargo, North Dakota. This position involves providing nursing care for adult patients, including those with surgical oncology conditions, within a busy hospital setting. The role requires collaboration with inter-professional teams to implement effective care plans and ensure high standards of clinical practice.
Job Details:
- Location: Fargo, North Dakota
- Shift Schedule: 12-hour days, every other weekend and holiday
- Start Date: 09/14/2026
- Schedule: The shifts are 12 hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications:
- Active ND or Compact RN License (list state in comments)
- BLS certification from the AHA (American Heart Association)
- Minimum of 2 years recent Medical Surgical (MS) experience working in a hospital with at least 200 beds, level 2 or higher trauma center
- Travel experience required unless multiple years of experience in a large level 1 trauma center
- Epic experience
- Minimum of 1 year of med/surg experience; surgical oncology experience preferred but not required
- Must badge in and out at the facility
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with surgical oncology patients
- Additional Information:
- Must have experience using EMR systems such as Epic, AccuDose, and Telemetry monitors
- Equipment utilized includes bladder scanners and Philips monitors
- Unit has 47 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1 during day shifts and 6:1 during night shifts
- The nurse may float to any medical-surgical unit across the campus, with training including a lead center day and two 12-hour shifts with a preceptor
