Description

Mercy seeks an Oncology Nurse to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to patients undergoing cancer treatment. In this role, you’ll coordinate chemotherapy and related therapies, monitor symptoms, educate patients and families, and collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team. Provide direct oncology nursing care to patients receiving chemotherapy and related therapies
Administer and monitor chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive medications safely
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and monitor for treatment side effects and complications
Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plans, symptom management, and home care
Coordinate care with physicians, pharmacists, social workers, and other team members
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
Follow infection control and safety protocols for high-risk oncology populations
Respond to urgent or emergent patient situations and escalate care appropriately
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice projects
