Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI) is seeking a board certified / board eligible neuro-ophthalmologist. The physician would be joining the neuro-otology and neuro-ophthalmology divisions within the department of neurology, comprised of over 60 faculty members and a vibrant neurology residency program and subspecialty fellowships. We are Arizona’s only dedicated neuro-ophthalmology program providing comprehensive neuro-ophthalmological and medical evaluation of diseases that affect the visual pathways and control of eye movements. Neuro-ophthalmology is part of the new Barrow Eye and Ear clinical program.
Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona, is a focused neuroscience institute and internationally recognized leader in neurology, neurosurgery, and neuroradiology. Barrow has a traditional tripartite academic mission of providing patient-centered patient care, training the next generation of physician leaders, and conducting clinically relevant research. Drawing patients from the entire United States, Mexico, Canada, and worldwide, BNI has 14 subspecialties in Neurovascular and Stroke disorders, Epilepsy, Headache, Sports Neurology and Traumatic Brain Injury, Neuro-Ophthalmology, Neuro-Oncology, Neuro-Otology, Movement disorders, Neuromuscular diseases, Alzheimer’s disease and Cognitive disorders, Neurocritical Care, Neuroimmunology, Neuroendocrinology, and Sleep. Our neurologists work closely with over 30 neurosurgeons and 30 PhD and MD scientists in a facility that is uniquely state-of-the-art. All BNI faculty hold academic title appointments with University of Arizona College of Medicine Phoenix and Creighton University School of Medicine Phoenix.
The neurology department includes large out-patient state-of-the-art facilities, and a vast array of clinical resources including dedicated outpatient neurology infusion center, neuropsychology, social work, physical therapy, occupational therapy, recreational therapy, speech therapy, and acclaimed community outreach programs. Job Summary: The successful candidate may be either a clinician-educator or clinician-scientist. Work with an experienced, highly skilled, and comprehensive team of neurological specialists at Barrow Neurological Institute in St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center within our growing comprehensive Barrow Eye and Ear program. The team includes advanced practice providers, dedicated nursing, program coordinators, and medical assistants and partners within the neurology department. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a high volume and medically complex patient population in collaboration with an outstanding multidisciplinary team.
Job Specifications: Applicants must have an M.D., M.D. /Ph.D., or D.O., and be Board certified/Board eligible in Neurology by ABPN and have successfully completed neuro-ophthalmology fellowship training. Ability to obtain a state of Arizona medical license at time of employment. BNI academic rank and track will match applicant’s qualifications.
