Description
The George Washington School of Nursing invites qualified applicants for a tenure-track open rank faculty position. The ideal candidate will be a nurse researcher whose area of study includes one or more of the following: symptom science, oncology, behavioral health, health policy or population health. This full-time, 9 or 12-month position is scheduled to begin as early as Summer 2026. This is an on-campus, not a remote position.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities can include but are not limited to:
- Develop and maintain an independent, externally funded research program
- Maintain an ongoing record of scholarly productivity, including publications and presentations
- Teach courses as assigned
- Mentor and advise students in research
- Participate in collaborative, interdisciplinary research teams
- Participate in faculty governance, including serving on departmental, school, and/or university committees
- Participate in a professional capacity in nursing and research organizations at the national and international level.
Requirements
1. Earned PhD in nursing, public health, education or related field by the date of application
2. A nursing degree at any level
3. An emerging body of scholarship, as evidenced by presentations and peer-reviewed publications
4. Track record of external funding
5. Strong methodological and statistical skills
6. Prior college-level teaching experience is required, including comfort with in-person and online learning
7. Eligibility for unencumbered DC and VA nursing licensure
