Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with Level 1 trauma and recent EPIC experience for a rotating 10-hour shift assignment.
Responsibilities
- Hospital operating room setting with a focus on general, orthopedic, urology, oncology, Da Vinci robotics, general surgery, ENT, dental, plastics, neuro, CVT, and trauma cases
- Care for a diverse surgical patient population in a Level 1 trauma environment
- Requires both circulating and scrubbing duties
- Uses EPIC EMR system
- 6-week contract with 10-hour rotating shifts, Monday through Sunday scheduling
- Weekends and call shifts required
- Scheduled to work at least 2 out of the following 4 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day
- Must provide care for complex surgical cases, including trauma
- Flexible scheduling is required; no block scheduling permitted
- Reliable personal transportation is needed due to lack of public transport access; all-season or snow tires recommended from November to April
- Candidates must be flexible and able to adapt in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
- First-time travelers may not be considered, as prior travel experience is highly preferred
Requirements
- Active VT or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of recent operating room experience required
- Level 1 trauma experience required
- EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years is required
- Skills and experience required in both circulating and scrubbing roles
- Experience in general OR with additional skills in ortho, urology, oncology, Da Vinci robotics, general surgery, ENT, dental, plastics, neuro, CVT, and trauma required
- Prior travel experience highly preferred
