This outpatient oncology nursing job is ideal for an experienced hematology/oncology nurse, infusion nurse, or chemotherapy nurse seeking a 13-week travel contract in Iowa.

• Shift: Days, Monday–Friday (0730/0800 start – 4p/4:30p end)
• Hours: 5x8 hour shifts, 40 hours/week
• On-Call / Weekends: None
• Employment Type: Travel Contract (travel nursing, oncology travel RN)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2220–$2340

Required Qualifications & Certifications

• Minimum 1 year of oncology experience in a clinic or ambulatory setting (required)
• Active Iowa RN license OR compact/multistate RN license (required)
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC (required)
• Phlebotomy experience (required)
• Port competency experience (required)
• Skills checklist specific to Oncology/Clinic/Chemotherapy (required)
• EPIC (Beacon) EMR experience strongly encouraged (EPIC experience, oncology EMR)
• Chemo education experience preferred (chemotherapy nurse, infusion nurse)
• Professional reference from a charge/supervisor/nurse manager/director/CNO/COO within the last 24 months preferred
• Valid Driver's License (required)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to hematology and oncology patients in an outpatient clinic setting (hematology oncology nurse)
• Perform phlebotomy, injections, port draws and support chemotherapy administration and patient education
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including 2 Nurse Practitioners and 3 MD providers
• Document and manage care using EPIC EMR (Beacon) for accurate charting and patient management
• Maintain a safe, supportive environment for patients and families; assist with triage and symptom management as needed
• Participate in orientation, competency validation, and ongoing oncology training
