Royal Vista Veterinary Specialists, a proud Thrive Pet Healthcare partner, is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) with a passion for Surgery to join our specialty team. About Royal Vista Veterinary Specialists
Royal Vista provides 24/7 emergency and urgent care for dogs and cats across Colorado, Nebraska, and Wyoming. Our specialty services include Surgery, Critical Care, Internal Medicine, and Oncology, as well as mobile specialty procedures through Front Range Mobile Surgical Specialists.
Our teams work closely with referring veterinarians to ensure continuity of care and the best possible outcomes, all while honoring the human-animal bond with compassion and respect.
What You’ll Do
As a Surgery Veterinary Technician, you’ll play a vital role in advanced patient care by:
- Assisting surgeons and veterinarians during procedures and surgical cases
- Preparing patients and surgical instruments for procedures
- Providing anesthesia monitoring and post-operative nursing care
- Monitoring and interpreting vital signs, including BP, ECG, SpO₂, and EtCO₂
- Administering medications and prescribed treatments
- Collecting laboratory samples and supporting diagnostic testing
- Maintaining accurate and thorough medical records
- Supporting efficient patient flow through admissions, treatment, and discharge
- Maintaining clean, organized, and sterile treatment, surgery, and recovery areas
- Using safe restraint techniques and following established protocols
- Collaborating closely with doctors, technicians, and support staff
What We’re Looking For
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of veterinary technician experience
- Active CVT/LVT/RVT credential (required)
- Strong experience with anesthesia monitoring and surgical assisting
- Comfort monitoring ASA I-III patients (ASA IV-V experience preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and clinical observation skills
- Ability to recognize changes in patient condition and escalate appropriately
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
