The Nurse Practitioner is essential in building a responsive and sustainable public health infrastructure that
\n
reduces opioid-related morbidity and mortality, strengthens care continuity, and improves community outcomes
\n
through proactive, mobile engagement. The Nurse Practitioner is also responsible for the development and
\n
provision of Continuous Quality Improvements (CQI).
\n

Nurse Practitioner Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
\n
\n
Administrative
\n
- Ensure effective communication and operations between prehospital staff, medical director, Fire & Rescue administration, primary physicians, and receiving facilities.\n
- Assist with continuing development of the Fire & Rescue Nurse Practitioner role.\n
- Assist with writing program policy and procedures.\n
- Assist in data collection, analysis, and review of the APRU Program's performance.\n
- Assessment of Health Status Conduct thorough health and medical history intake to establish a foundational understanding of patient status.\n
- Perform age- and history-appropriate physical examinations to identify current health concerns and baseline conditions.\n
- Facilitate comprehensive medication reconciliation and review in collaboration with the patient and family members.\n
- Initiate and/or orders relevant preventive and diagnostic procedures aligned with patient demographics and clinical context.\n
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify potential health and medical risk factors affecting patient outcomes.\n
- Assessing environmental and social determinants of health within the home setting that may impact patient well-being.\n
- Recognize patients with chronic medical conditions who would benefit from ongoing home-based clinical care.\n

Diagnosis
\n
- Apply advanced clinical reasoning and critical thinking throughout the diagnostic workflow.\n
- Initiate and perform appropriate diagnostic testing to inform and guide patient care decisions.\n
- Communicate pertinent clinical findings with interdisciplinary team members to support collaborative decision-making.\n
- Integrate and interpret comprehensive data sets to derive meaningful clinical insights.\n
- Develop a differential diagnosis by synthesizing historical, physical, and diagnostic information in accordance with best practice standards.\n

Rate: USD $180,000 to $200,000
Qualifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- National Institutes of Health (NIH)
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- Active unencumbered Nurse Practitioner Florida state license
- Graduate from a fully accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- One year of work experience as Nurse Practitioner
- One year of EMR experience
- Board Certified
- Three years of RECENT (WITHIN THE LAST YEAR) acute care leadership experience within specialty (Would be open to 1-2 years; Also would be flexible on speaking with candidates that have leadership experience within the Transplant, BMT, Blood Cancer, Hematology, Oncology
- Registered Nurse license in the state of FL or current active multistate license.
- Bone Marrow Transplant Certified Nurse (BMTCN), or Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN), or Bachelors Degree, or Masters Degree must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date
- Prior experience working within a Transplant and Cellular Therapy(TCT), Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) or Blood and Bone Marrow transplant program is highly preferred.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support required

- Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
- Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
- Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
- Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
- A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
- Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
