UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital & The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine currently employ more than 200 psychiatrists and manage more than 500 psychiatric beds across the network. We have more than 390,000 outpatient visits a year and over $180 million in research funding. • Adult outpatient including subspecialties in OCD, bipolar, & women's health

• Child & Adolescent including subspecialties in autism & early childhood trauma

• Addiction Medicine & Detox (positions available for non-psychiatrists with addiction training/certification)

• Emergency Psychiatry including our community crisis clinic, our hospital based psychiatric emergency room, and telepsychiatry to medical ERs

UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital is an integrated behavioral health system comprising clinical services, education and training, and research. Together with the Department of Psychiatry of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, we provide behavioral health care that is informed by the latest research, for individuals across the life span, who are at all stages in their recovery. Many of our sites are teaching clinics and offer multiple opportunities for training residents, medical students, and other trainees. The Department of Psychiatry offers a Clinician Educator Faculty Development Program and is also actively recruiting physicians who are interested in furthering our robust DEI initiatives including the University of Pittsburgh Race and Social Determinants of Equity and Well-being Cluster Hire and Retention Initiative.
